Thomas Puéchavy 2022 'Les Turbulents' Pétillant Naturel (Sparkling Chenin Blanc)

100% Chenin Blanc from organically farmed vines in Vouvray sandwiched between Huet and Foreau of all folks! Grapes are hand-harvested, directly pressed and spontaneously ferment in fiberglass tank prior to the completion of primary fermentation. The wine finishes fermenting under crown cap, to dryness, capturing the CO2 released as part of alcoholic fermentation (ancestral method). After 12-18 months sur latte the wine is disgorged and re-sealed with crown-cap. Unfined, unfiltered, no additional SO2. 

Vineyards are located in Nazelles‑Négron, on the outskirts of Vouvray. Because his cellar is just outside the official Vouvray AOC boundary, his wines are designated as Vin de France, not Vouvray, despite using the same grape (Chenin Blanc) and terroir influences.
